• I have the blog post menu (called news) set so it is a menu item and not the static page. It now shows the oldest post with ways to migrate to newer posts.

I have tried it in a couple of themes and it does the same thing so I don’t think it is theme related.

    1) how do you set it so it goes to the newest post first?

    2) how do you show a list of posts instead of just one?

    web site is: https://www.buildingnaturalponds.com

  • Your News menu item is linking to a single post, which is the only post too.

Try linking to an archive instead, and add more posts to this archive.

    Hope this helps.

I don’t understand your comment – It is linked to two posts, not one. the second one is called test.

What is an archive? In my other blogs, I don’t link to an archive, but these other blogs do not use a static front page.

Ok – i think I understand what you are saying. I added another menu item called test which links to the test post.

I then need to change the wording of the question. How do I add a menu item that will point to the list of posts? In menus there is no option to select a ‘archive’ type menu.

This video provides the missing piece to make this work.

Seems to have nothing to do with archive??

    Thanks for your help.

You should be able to select “Categories” that you can drop into your menus in the same way as Pages, Posts etc..

I believe you can enable them via the Screen Options tab at the top of the page when editing a menu via the Appearance > Menus admin menu.

    Is this what you mean?
