https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/36423 should fix it. You can copy the changes in that PR if you want to get rid of the warnings, but it will be fixed in the next release.

Sorry to be a pest, but has this fix ever been released? I manage a large number of sites and its getting annoying to have to fix each one – knowing that the issue should be resolved.

Version 1.12.1 was just released which fixes this problem.
