I wanted to recompress webp images with different quality settings. First I used “Delete all converted files” to have a fresh start, and then I left it so images would be recompressed automatically when opened. After an hour I noticed that some images were not loading at all, and after checking it turned out that EVERY WEBP IMAGE WAS REMOVED from uploads folder. Even those that I uploaded in that format. Thank god my hosting had everyday backup so I restored them. But this is a huge bug!

Hello, since it seems like having an answer here is more likely than having one from the official support, do you know a way to reconvert all webp images back to JPEG? I need that since on iPhone none of the images are showing up

@lucas6888 you can only recover them from backup because they are physically removed from server. Contact your webhost about backup.

I see, I thought that as there are tools online to convert from WebP, there was also a good chance plugins for bulk conversion on website existed. Thank you for the answer anyway

Hold on, I’m sorry, I’ve read “recover” instead of “reconvert”.

You are talking about different problem than mine. But to help you out, original jpg files are still on your server. You probably need to change “Operation mode” to “No conversion”, disable all 3 options in “.htaccess rules for webp generation” and uncheck “Alter HTML?”. That way it should send original files to users instead of webp.

Yeah I know it is a different issue but it was the most similar and recent I found to get a quick response. Thank you again!
