You updated the shortcode to [seamless-donations]? Or is the shortcode on the page still [dgx-donate]?

    Hi David
I thought I had to change the code from dgx to seamless and that did not work so I put it back as [dgx-donate]

The warning is confusing…when it says update using the [seamless-donations]

Here’s how it works. If you’re in 3.x compatibility mode, the icon for the Seamless Donations admin menu is a gear and you should [dgx-donate] as the shortcode for launching the form.

If you’re in the modern 4.0 mode, the icon for the Seamless Donations admin menu is a palm tree and you should [seamless-donations] as the shortcode for launching the form.

Unless you have a strong reason for retaining 3.x mode, you should probably be using the 4.0 mode since that’s code I’m able to support and update.

    Thanks David-

I am following your instruction but it seems it keeps installing the old one, when I remove it I check my FTP and it is not in there so it is good but it seems that I have to refresh , how do I do that?

    Thanks

I deleted it through FTP and I got the “The plugin seamless-donations/dgx-donate.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.” I refreshed and I made sure it is not in my FTP nor in my plugins and went and reinstalled it but it installed the old version- going nuts.

My only other thought is you have some sort of caching thing that’s getting in the way. How comfortable are you using PhpMyAdmin and looking in the database? Once you get it reinstalled, if you still have the problem, we could see if we can hammer a few option values to force it to love you.

Once you have the plugin installed, are you seeing the gear icon or the palm tree? And what is the shortcode you’re using on your page? Let’s double-check those to make sure we’re on the same track.

Oh, and is this a fresh environment, or do you already have a lot of donor and donation data?

    It is fresh environment.
Every time I re-install it I see the gear icon and all the field in the setting such as my email address and so on are already populated so it is a cashing issue.

Now here is the thing, never used thePhpMyAdmin.
I logged in from cpanel- but I dont see the plugin in there even…keep in mind I uninstalled it prior of me logging into cpanel- here is a link for the image.

David- Here is what happened, after installing it again and of course the old version was installed I saw a note / warning whatever you called like a message saying that seamless donation has lots of new things and upgrades click here to see these changes etc…so I clicked and it took me to a page where it says also backup or data and are you ready to upgrade so I click on that button and the new version got installed…and using it now so I am all set my friend , thanks for your help – really appreciate it.

Awesome. Be sure to upgrade to 4.0.6 when it comes out in a couple of days (once the 4.0.5 beta completes).
