    Hello,

When I upgraded to PHP 8.2 (my website is hosted on WPEngine), this warning message is displayed

Deprecated: Using ${var} in strings is deprecated, use {$var} instead in?/nas/content/live/pexstaging/wp-content/plugins/tiny-compress-images/src/vendor/tinify/Tinify/Client.php?on line?31

    How can I fix that?

    Thank you.

    Hi nagarsoft,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. First, I’d like to ask if the warning message is affecting the plugin’s functionality or your website. While deprecated features can trigger warnings, they often do not immediately cause functional issues.

That said, we will investigate the issue to update the code accordingly. Meanwhile, if the plugin is still operating as expected, the warning should not pose any immediate problems.

Thank you for your patience. Please let us know if you experience any further issues or have additional questions.

    Kind Regards,
    TinyPNG

Thanks for your reply. Things seem to be working normally. The issue is that the warning message is displayed on the pages.

Is there a way to fix that, for example seeing the warning only when I’m logged in, preventing the warning messages to be shown on the production website?

    Thank you

    Hi nagarsoft,

Thank you for the update. I’m glad to hear that the plugin is working as expected, but I understand that having warning messages displayed on your production website is not ideal. That seems highly unusual!

Could you please share the specific production page where these warnings are visible? This will help us investigate the issue more thoroughly.

    Best Regards,

    Hi nagarsoft,

We would like to inform you that we have removed the deprecated PHP syntax in version 3.4.2, so by updating to the latest version of the plugin you won’t see the warning again.

Again thanks for your message. Happy compressing!
