After upgrading titles are now all broken.
Instead of what I have in “SEO Title” field, it now has the <WP Site Title>+’ ‘+<WP Tagline>+”SEO Title”

AND without a space in between so it doesn’t read at all

So say your SEO Title says “Best foobar site”, and your WP Site Title says “John Smith & Co”, WP Tagline says “Best fish in Canada”

In the past your page title would be “Best foobar site”. Now it is “John Smith & Co Best fish in CanadaBest foobar site”

If you delete all the WP tags (which will probably break something else) you get ” Best foobar site” <note the leading space>

  • I also got a problem with title, not rly exact same one – but similar since 1.5.2 (and still in 1.5.2.4): %%cf_<custom-field-name>%% doesn’t work anymore – it doesn’t read the custom field anymore but just “%%cf_<custom-field-name>%%” on every page.

@private183 that is not the same problem. Please open your own thread or find one which is the same issue, instead of hijacking someone else’s.

Is this considered a bug and will it be fixed?
I’m not sure but the leading space will be some seo penalty by google as irrelevant punctuation or whatever

wp_title is now empty with the main page

I have been having this same issue for some time. Nothing I have tried works to correct the problem. My site titles appear just as the original poster explains with the WordPress SEO title and the WP title and description back to back with no space between. I have tried removing the WordPress SEO title by emptying the field and saving and it stays the same. I have tried removing the WP title and description (and as the original poster mentions there are repercussions to this anyway) and the result is that I either get an entirely blank title (if my WordPress SEO title is left blank) or I get the same awkward leading space and the Google SEO penalties that go with it (ironic since this is an SEO plugin, no?). I like the plugin and would like to use it more often but I can’t with this issue. I just updated the plugin to the latest version and the problem persists.
