No other plugins active or installed but when going to the jetpack admin page I receive the following error several times…

Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Empty needle in /var/sites/b/my domain name appears here/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 623

Followed by a number of lines like this…

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /var/sites/b/my domain name appears here/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php:623) in /var/sites/b/my domain name appears here/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php on line 3939

Happened after updating Jetpack. I have tried deleting and reinstalling jetpack but get exactly the same error. All other jetpack functions, settings, stats etc. appear to work but get this when I click on the main jetpack link in the dashboard.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Hi there!

When you say you “deleted and reinstalled” Jetpack – did you do this via your site’s dashboard or did you do this via FTP? If via the dashboard, can you try deleting and reinstalling the plugin via FTP instead?

Log in to your site via FTP, and delete the existing jetpack plugin files.

Once you have done so you can reinstall Jetpack manually via FTP:

NOTE: you will lose any customizations you’ve set, so if you’re using Custom CSS, please make sure to copy the contents of your CSS file prior to deleting the plugin.

Let me know if you still have this problem and I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

    Hi Carolyn,

Thank you for the reply. Following your suggestion, I deleted the files and then reloaded the plugin using FTP but unfortunately get exactly the same result.

    Update:

Having decided to take the chance and install WordPress 4.0 the issue appears to have been resolved.

Interesting! Perhaps your installation of WordPress itself had a hiccup somewhere!

Glad it’s working for you now. Let us know if you see it again and we’ll be happy to help. Marking as resolved.

Carolin whether there could help me about this error (more).

@smoking4e That error is linked to your theme, produs. You’ll need to contact the theme author about the issue.
