• Edit:
This plugin provides a great feature many WordPress admins will want.

I would suggest keeping one admin account with a permanent (very strong) password to avoid being locked out in case something malfunctions – as it did to me in an earlier version.

    Old review:

Seemed to be exactly what we needed, now when passwords expire resetting to a new password does not change the password expire message, meaning all our users are locked out.

This meant we had to put in a request to our server team to disable the plugin via folder rename, just to get any access.

This issue has been fixed as of v0.6.0 released today.

Would you consider changing this 1-star review of my plugin?

    Hi Frankie,

    Thanks for fixing the issue.

I will change the rating but It’s concerning when a plugin locked all users out of a WordPress installation.

Not all self installed sites have direct file access without going through an involved process, and some users are not familiar with how to disable plugins using file access.

I see your concern and appreciate the honesty.

At this point I haven’t given Expire Passwords a 1.0 version for this very reason. I’d like to have more testers and feedback on the plugin before declaring it “officially stable”. Every issue in the plugin that is discovered, reported, and fixed makes it that much closer to becoming 1.0. So thank you very much for saying something, because it does help.

Just a little suggestion for the future, please consider reporting problems in the support forum first before leaving a negative review. Probably the #1 indicator of a quality free plugin in this community isn’t how few bugs it has, but how willing the author is to support it.
