WARNING: W3 does not work with load balancer and CDN

  • Just an FYI to people out there who are considering the latest version of W3cache while using a loadbalance and CDN. It it completely broken after the update.

    Even if you have the master.json on both servers after a while the authentication from the CDN will fail. The only way to get it to work again is to re-authenticate over and over. For some reason, even though all the settings are stored on the JSON file they are not being read when it goes to authenticate against the CDN.

    We have had massive problems with this since the update and 0 help from the devs here. Just be warned at this time, do not try using W3 cache with an auth CDN.

    I think im facing the same issue, i was not able to achieve a higher hit rate with varnish because it was purging too quickly
    try this you may need if you’re using varnish
    varnishlog -g request -q ‘ReqMethod eq “PURGE”‘
