I have been working on updating and improving this plugin for 3 years now. I am finally at the point where I feel I have done enough to make this plugin more feature rich and modern to keep up with the rest of the food blogging niche.

To address your issues…

This is related to a missing translation file for your sites language. Right now it is set to “de-CH” but I only have a translation file for “de-DE”. You will have to create a new translation for “de-CH”.

You can disable the icons in the plugins setting pages under the “Templates” tab.

For the instruction photos, you can change the “Position of instruction images” setting under the “Templates” tab.

If I enabled photos in the printed recipe you would have readers complaining that you are wasting their printer ink. Most of the sites I manage have at least 5 photos per recipe, so I heard that complaint often.

There is a “Email” share button in the builtin “Social Media Sharing” extension.

I have change the picture and bullets, but the ingredients are still not in a line

It was only today that I found out that “de-CH” is a variation of the German language. Also, please bear in mind that I do not know the German language or its dialects. I will go ahead and create a translation for “de-CH” and release it later today.

I can see that the alignment is off on your ingredient list. Try re-saving that recipe and see if it fixes that issue.

I will look into adding pictures in the printed recipe in a future update.

Try to create a new recipe and you should see a notification to update your recipe database, it should fix the issue with missing taxonomies

You shouldn’t really bundle translations with your plugin ??

Instead, I recommend using https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/recipepress-reloaded/ to translate your plugin.

Truth be told, I know of those pages but I’ve no idea how it is supposed to work and WP has done a poor job of explaining it.

I was under the impression that translate.www.ads-software.com would parse the translations bundled with the plugin and update the information on that page. It hasn’t worked that way for my other plugins.

That was a one-time thing a few years ago when that page was initially setup. Since then, translations bundled with the plugin are ignored and only used as a fallback.

You can upload the PO file on translate.www.ads-software.com. Ideally the user would add the translations there themselves of course.
In any case, once the translations are approved by editors who vet the quality and speak the language, the user’s WordPress site will automatically download & use the translations from there.

I am familiar with that page from the plugin handbook, also I used to keep Otto’s blog posts on i18n open while I work. It is just that this new dependence on translate.www.ads-software.com never clicked for me.

This appears to a bug with how the ingredients are sorted on the backend. Try editing this recipe and change the sorting of the ingredients, then updating the recipe.

this has helped, but I cant open all over 200 recipes and save it new, is this the only way?

This is only an issue in recipes where there are groups of ingredients. So you may need to check your recipes and manually update them where this bug exist. Or, you could give me soon time to see if I can automatically fix this issue.
