Hello, within the last few days my Document Gallery plugin no longer shows up:

    I go to page
    Click on “Add media”
Document gallery used to show up on top left
    Now it doesn’t

However, all my DG shortcodes are still showing up correctly with thumbnails, it just doesn’t show document gallery option anymore so I can’t create new ones. Did a new wordpress version break it, or did you guys recently come out with a new version of document gallery?

    Hi Philip,

You are absolutely correct. Thanks for pointing this issue out. We are pushing out 3.5.2 now which should resolve the issue.

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

No worries anything free is worth waiting for ?? I’ll try to send over a small donation in the next couple days for your awesome efforts.

Thanks I sent a donation I know it’s small but if everyone did you’d be doing quite well ?? I have another question, I use themify.me and on the “front end” I was able to at one time use document gallery by going to:

    add media
    see it on top left
    use document gallery

However, at some point in time either a DG update or themify update broke the front end document gallery GUI, now I have to go to the “Back end” to use DG, which is a slight inconvenience. Possible to test or fix?

Not at all — that was more than enough for a beer! ??

Regarding Themify.me, I’m not familiar with what the dialog your describing would look like exactly so it’s hard for me to say what might have changed. I presume it was just bringing some of the backend editing functionality to the front end in some way??

Screenshots or a demo site would be helpful so I have a bit of context.

Yes, exactly, ideally it would bring a backend functionality to the front end, within the same “ADD MEDIA” GUI:

    Back end:

    Front end (missing button):

Latest update didn’t bring it back for me. How can I rectify this issue?

    Hi Dianav,

We’re going to need more specifics if we’re going to be able to troubleshoot your problems. The issue presented in this topic has been resolved in the current version.

If you can provide information on what version of Document Gallery you have installed, what version of WordPress you are running, and what exactly the symptoms you are seeing then we’ll do our best to help.

    -Dan

I love your plugin, it’s been super helpful, but this last week I needed to add a new document and I wasn’t able to. Please tell me if I should be posting this separately, but I’m experiencing the exact issue that PhilipjLA describes (no document gallery is showing up on the left in the media library). I have version 3.5.2 of Document Gallery. I was on WP v 4.3 but just upgraded to 4.3.1 hoping that might resolve the issue — it didn’t.

Thank you in advance for any insight.

    Hi Cathy,

If you hit F12, you should have a console pop up in your browser. Once you’ve done that, if you navigate to the post where you’re trying to insert a Document Gallery and then click the Add Media button, are any errors logged?

    Hi Dan,
Thanks for responding so fast. I think I must have forgotten how I did it initially, I was going in directly through the media gallery, not through adding media in a post.

Thank you for your time and sorry for being dense ??

Haha! No worries. Glad you figured it out! ??

Hi Dan did you have a chance to check to get it on the front end working, looks like schrodinger had the same issue, he went in through media gallery on front end, and it doesn’t work for him anymore. would be a nice feature to have back.

    Hi Philip,

This was never intended behavior and I actually cannot see how it would have worked in the past. We intentionally don’t load admin-specific assets (such as the JS file necessary for that functionality) on the front-end to avoid unnecessary load time associated with additional HTTP requests, so that option will not exist.

    Sorry!
