Watermark

  • First, Thank you for taking your time and developing this plugin. Works great.
    It does not have watermark functionality, Therefore, I would like to ask you which is the best compatible watermark plugin I can use with EWWW Image Optimizer. My biggest concern is that I won’t know if the watermark will be applied before or after the optimization at the time of file upload and how this will affect the optimized image.

  • I have had great luck with a Windows program called Visual Watermark. I previously used the watermark tool in Nextgen Gallery, but didn’t scale with the amount of images I was processing.

    I don’t have any experience with any watermarking plugins, so I can’t say for sure, but I would just find one that has the functionality you need, and try it on a couple images. Make sure you back up your /uploads/ folder first, as it seems most of them do not keep the original images intact, but instead they overwrite the original. If you find one that you like, but it doesn’t seem that the images are optimized (check them with Google Pagespeed or something like that), let me know and I can do more investigating.

    I’ll second this. Currently choosing and testing available plugins for watermarks, and using EWWWIO as well. Will share the results of my tests in few days.
