Hi so I don’t know why you changed the positioning. I had to go update mine as requested because it was printing on the next page….but now it no longer works for landscape pages.

Is there a way we can have it as a measurement from the bottom of the page instead of the top?

    Hi @alundra

The change in positioning was a casualty of a move from a limited, pay-walled software library to a more featured, open-source one. All I can do is apologize and state I wish I had pushed more semantic versioning on 2.4 (would have called it 3.0 had I noticed the position change before pushing it) in order to help warn folks. Otherwise, I think the price is right, no?

There is another watermarking plugin that allows moving in from the bottom of the page, but it is not free, and I’m not allowed to talk about it on these forums.

If you’re talking about the official one that’s useless, so out of date I have to make all my PDFs 1.5 according to the documentation :(. I do like it’s simplicity and smoothness though.

Are you going to work on a from bottom option or perhaps some sort of detection for landscape pages? I have quite a few littered in there so these are doubling some files size by adding blank pages with a watermark on them lol. Lucky for me no one’s bought one of those yet but they’d be right to complain if they did lol. Plus it kind of ruins the point of watermarking when it’s on blank pages, those don’t need the protection ha ha.

I don’t know what you mean by the “official one,” but the FPDI library comes with that sub-version-1.5 limitation unless you purchase the 100€ (per installation) license. Which is why I finally moved this plugin away from FPDI.

Sorry, the from bottom option will not be part of this rudimentary and free plugin. Your solution does exist, but it is not free.

Move your watermark higher up the page and it will not create blank pages.

Are you trying to say if I purchase premium I will have that option? I am happy to do that if it’s there.

By official I meant “PDF Watermark” by Woocommerce.

There is the option to measure from the bottom of the PDF page (making it possible to have the footer watermark the same distance from the bottom of the page on any size PDF) in the premium version.

Also, I’ve adjusted the PDF parser script to make it process 4×5 times faster, and will push that to the repository shortly (version 2.4.3). That might solve your PHP memory issue.

Thank you so much on both counts! ??

It’s my pleasure. I’m glad to hear you’ve gotten things sorted out. ??

Wow, this was a really bad move. Suddenly, some of our shops wasn’t creating correct PDFs anymore and no one recognized this for weeks until some customers where complaining about it. Now, I either have to disable the plugin or buy premium for a very basic usage.

Thank you very much for creating and maintaining this plugin, but I think that a Freemium plugin should include the very basic use case, not just a little unusable demo.

@basti743 We are sorry you feel like this is a “little unusable demo,” and suggest you change your settings so that it works again like it did before. The change caused watermarks to move a handful of millimeters on the page, which can be rectiied by changing your settings by a couple of millimeters. Not unusable at all, but we understand why you’re upset.
