    Hi,

We have a site running WPML to provide different locales. We would like to show the assistant on two of the sites (.de and .ch, they are both in German, so the actual assistant doesn’t need translating). One the German version, assistant works fine, on the Swiss version, however, not:
    1. When I activate the assistant on a Swiss page, it gets deactivated on the German one.
    2. When it is set on the Swiss page, the assistant button appears but the assistant itself doesn’t work. The console shows errors saying “POST /index.php?rest_route=/watsonconv/v1/message 401” and “Error: Message could not be sent. at app.js?ver=0.8.33:15”

    Best regards,
    Manuela

    Hello @konishkichen,

We reviewed the log file you provided, but did not find any errors that could lead to the indicated problem in the plugin. We also checked the plugin’s work on both versions of your site, and could not reproduce this problem. Please see sample screenshots: for German version for Swiss version. Apparently the error occurs only on the dev versions of the sites. The most likely cause of the problem is the htpasswd protection, which blocks the plugin’s POST requests. In addition, the cache on your server or any of the installed plugins may be the cause of this problem. To eliminate them, please clean the cache on the server and try turning off other plugins one by one each time checking your site.

    Hi,

Sorry, I was on holiday until today. Yes, the error only occurred on the dev versions as this is the installation running WPML (the others were still separate WordPress installations). We have pushed the dev sites to production this morning and it’s now working fine, although I don’t know why. Thanks for your help nevertheless! ??

    Best regards,
    Manuela
