I would like to share a bit of info for others who update the endpoint and then ask two questions:

    1. On the instructions page, https://cloud.ibm.com/docs/watson?topic=watson-endpoint-change , for Step 2, sub-steps a. and b. are missing. You can ignore that error. For sub-step c, you need to click on “Add” once you have entered the requested data before going to sub-step d. Once you have created your new credentials there and have updated your plugin settings and have successfully tested the new endpoint, you can presumably return to the same page at IBM and delete the old service credentials.

    2. Question: in the plugin setup, I do not understand the purpose of the field “User name”. as it does not correspond to any of the fields in the IBM service credentials, namely:
    apikey
    iam_apikey_description
    iam_apikey_name
    iam_role_crn
    iam_serviceid_crn
    url
I imagined that it might be the same as iam_apikey_name, but the interface works with a different value in the plugin. So what value should be there with the new service credentials and endpoint?

    3. Under the Advanced options for adding new service credentials, is the possibility to “Provide service-specific configuration parameters in a valid JSON object (Optional)” Are any of those configuration parameters relevant to the use of the plugin?

Finally, I never received any notification from IBM about the endpoint change. Presumably, everyone has to make this change whether IBM sees fit to notify you or not.

    Hello Ambyomoron

    Thank you for contacting us.

    1. According to the API documentation, authentication can be performed using two methods: IAM authentication and Basic authentication (for more information, follow this link). Therefore, we left the “User name” field free for input but set the default value. If you are using IAM authentication, just leave it “apikey”.

    2. To integrate Watson Assistant into our plugin, only the credentials obtained from the API details section in the settings menu of your Assistant are relevant. If adding new service credentials changes the credentials in the API details section, then the configuration parameters from that JSON object are important for using the plugin.

    3. For further work with your Watson Assistant, you need to make this change to the endpoint of the URL, even if IBM did not send you any notifications.

If you have any further questions, please, feel free to let us know.
