Way to use Events Calendar with custom permalink structure
-
The Problem from here was not solved: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/way-to-use-events-calendar-with-custom-permalink-structure/
I’ve also create some exclusions in wp-rocket for the plugin.

Hello @uentooser,
Thanks for the follow-up.
The permalink structure /posts/%postname%/ doesn’t affect events. The only one is the ugly one (Plain), the rest the post archive. So say for URL – https://sv-etzhorn.de/posts/test-event will only show if there’s a Post with the slug test-event.
If you want to change the calendar post type to use another permalink, we recommend doing that via customization.
Please note that we can only provide limited support for customization like this per our scope of support.
Refer to this article regarding customization: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/custom-development/.
Here is a list of template files for The Events Calendar. You can view our Full guide on customizations, our REST API, and our Developer Docs here:https://docs.theeventscalendar.com.
I hope that helps. Do not hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance.
For the support point: Yes I think about it to buy it, but why I should buy it, if it’s not working for me ??
Permalink structure: I’ve always bring the structure back (for a test) to the default (which you preffer) but it still doesn’t work.
For what customization? This is a normal wordpress page.
Hi @uentooser
To confirm, did you just installed The Events Calendar plugin recently? Could you please check the values of the following from Events > Troubleshooting page? I want to make sure that this is not a migration issue.
- Custom Tables Migration Status
- Custom Tables Health Check
Also, please try re-publishing the event has the issue, and see if that makes a difference.
Yep, I’ve installed the plugin in the first time some month ago, then delete it and now since a week ago I’ve installed the plugin again to give him a new chance. Idk (to long time ago) if the plugin works at the first installation.
Also the log is empty. In the troubleshooting page I only can see, a problem with a Google Maps API key. But idk where I can take a look into

Hi @uentooser,
Thanks for your patience with this!
To check the Custom Tables Migration Status and Custom Tables Health Check, you can scroll down a bit inside the Events > Troubleshooting box.
Here’s a screenshot to help you find them → https://share.zight.com/RBuAw4L1
These sections will show you if there are any migration issues related to your event data.
Darian also recommended trying to re-publish the event that’s having the issue.
Sometimes that can help resolve things.
Let us know if you find anything in the troubleshooting page or if re-publishing the event makes a difference.
Hi @uentooser,
Please check out this article and try the recommended solutions: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/
If the issue persists, could you provide the following version of the following?
- PHP
- WordPress
- The Events Calendar
- Theme and Version
Could you share the direct URL to the page you’re having issues with? Please do not share any credentials, this is for us to follow the WordPress Forum Guidelines.
Looking forward to helping you with this one.
The issue still exists.
- PHP Version is PHP Version 8.1.28 (from Provider)
- WordPress Version is Version 6.5.2
- TEC Version is Stable tag: 6.3.7
- Theme is “Blossom Spa” with Version Stable tag: 1.3.5
For example, this is an “test” event which I created yesterday: https://sv-etzhorn.de/event/test/
Hi @uentooser,
My colleague, Cheska, asked you for checking Custom Tables Migration Status and Custom Tables Health Check according to this screenshot: https://share.zight.com/RBuAw4L1. Would you mind sharing those tables’ status with us?
Also share a screenshot from your permalink settings.
Hi @atousanajafi,

Hi @uentooser ,
Thank you for your message and the information.
From what you’ve sent, it looks like we’re looking at some missing custom tables issue here. The Migration to the New Event Data System was supposed to add the Event and Occurrences tables to your database. As such, could you please check if you have an Upgrade tab when you go to Events -> Settings? If there’s no Upgrade tab, it’s probably best to reset the migration (see Reversing migration) and start over.
To be safe, we’d recommend conducting this on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.
Howly cow … after I’m doing this https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/migrating/#reversing-migration and going to Settings > Upgrade > Do Upgrade – the Calendar works like charm.
Thanks for your support.
Hi @uentooser
Thanks for your confirmation and I’m glad that it is now working.
If you have a minute, a great review from you would be amazing!
