    It would be great to have control over the vertical exaggeration in the elevation profile, and for the exaggeration (X?) to be stated on the map.

    Joe, are you now living in the Comox Valley?

    Hi @terrylewisbcca,

    Thanks for reaching out. You can specify the height of the elevation profile with some CSS like this:

    .waymark-elevation {
    height: 600px !important;
    }

    As for displaying the exaggeration, do you mean to compare the amount of screen height (i.e. pixels) with the actual elevation (i.e. meters)? This could be tricky honestly!

    Yes I am in the Comox Valley and certainly familiar with the Vancouver Island Trail. I actually noticed that some of your pages are not currently working, possibly due to a permalink issue with pages starting with with /map/ (example). This could be being caused by a plugin conflict… possibly with Waymark.

    Feel free to create another support ticket if you think Waymark is at fault so I can look into that. Also if you ever want to talk trails and websites you can contact me directly [my username] at gmail dot com.

    Cheers,

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

    By exaggeration I mean the ratio of elevation (m) to distance (m) – so for a 10x that is often used, 100 m elevation interval (vertical) would be 1,000 m (1 km) distance.? I find that less exaggeration gives a better feel for trail steepness.

    Great to hear you are familiar with the VIT.  Yes, the current website has several problems.  I have not kept it up to date over last few months since we are in the middle of a complete re-vamp to be launched before the hiking season, hopefully by end March.  (Not a problem with Waymark)

    I found and have been trying your Waymark because I’m not completely happy with WP-GPX-Maps.? Will be using Waymark on the new web page.

    Cheers, Terry

    Hi Terry,

    I read up a little on Vertical Exaggeration and my initial impression is that it would be quite difficult to integrate into Waymark currently. I will keep it in mind for the future though, thanks for the suggestion.

    Joe
