Ways to edit this theme for my own good.

Hey,
I put together this site for a friend who wanted me to create a website for him using the o-so-neat Custom Community theme – unfortunately, he is asking that the site appear less bloggy. How can I remove the “Ramdom posts,” “Search by tabs,” “Archives,” thingies from the right side of the page? Also, can I make it so that posts don’t appear stacked on top of each other below?
