WC 2.6 Shipping Classes – Add new setting

And then you are successfully adding in the new field and saving it, correct? But after saving, the field shows empty even though the data is in the database?

You’re basically correct. That file is a template used via Backbone JS, and I don’t see how to get the value loaded into the field after its saved to the DB nor how to get the value into the “data” object used by Backbone after the Ajax call to save the data completes. That’s what I need help with – haven’t figured it out yet. Thus me asking how.

Hi Mike,

I do use that to add the column and it does appear correctly. However, when saving the settings for a given zone an Ajax is made to do the save and then the form fields are hidden and the “view” div is re-displayed, but the custom field’s new value as set by the admin does not appear, it shows the former value until the page is refreshed in the browser.

That’s the problem I’m trying to resolve. Any info on how to get the custom field’s value to display the correct value after the Ajax call completes?

Maybe your code is not in the right place to work over ajax? Ensure the code is always loaded, in admin, and during ajax requests, and early enough.

I know it works because I used the same actions in Fedex extension.
