    Hello,

    Recently we have received an e-mail from PayPal about a problm accessing wc-api/WC_Gateway_PPEC/ using IPNs.

    We are using the “WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway” plugin and not the “WooCommerce PayPal Payments” one. What should we do?

    This plugin will be retired soon though and we recommend giving the new PayPal Payments a try to see how it works for you: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/paypal-payments-upgrade-guide/

    There have been cases where the error notice you shared was caused by the site producing a fatal error upon receipt of this request or is otherwise unreachable by the IPN. This may be due to a plugin/theme conflict or something at the server level.
    A good place to start is checking your fatal error logs in WooCommerce > Status > Logs as well as your PHP server log to see if there are indeed fatal errors on your site.
    It’s worth mentioning that there are cases where PayPal sends these emails out even when the IPN is actually working.

    Anyway, the mentioned IPN endpoint was only used by the PayPal Checkout Gateway plugin and can be disregarded/deleted if you upgrade to the new integration: https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/how-do-i-stop-receiving-instant-payment-notifications-(ipns)-faq426
    PayPal Payments does not use PayPal IPN but instead transmits events via webhooks. This works similar to IPN, but better and so you don’t need to enter a specific URL anywhere as everything is automatically configured by the plugin.

    There is no?need to worry about PayPal IPN anymore when using PayPal Payments as?the new integration?uses the latest PayPal JavaScript SDK and REST API integration, so we suggest giving it a try and letting us know if any questions or issues come up.
