WCAG-A accessibility issues
-
Hello, I love your plugin and hope to help you improve it even more
My client’s editors use your blocks a lot in our site, however there is an easily remedied accessibility issue (WCAG A) that is dragging our SiteImprove score down, because of the number of blocks we use and the issue noted here – I hope you can quickly fix this in an upcoming release. It will hopefully just take a few minutes of your developer’s time…
Here’s the issue – for a few of your blocks’ elements, the aria-hidden attribute is set to true – however – the keyboard still allows these elements to be focused unless they also contain the attribute tabindex=”-1″ – that is what is raising the non-compliance issue
The two that we notice the most are the Accordion and Advanced spacer blocks, though there may be others that have the same issue – these are just the ones we use the most!
I’m hoping you can please take the time to do a search for this in your codebase, and then add the attribute tabindex=”-1″ to them please… I attached screenshots to help you identify the issue…
Do you think you can please fit this in asap? As an educational institution, my client would be most grateful, since Accessibility is a big thing in these circles – I hope you can understand!
Looking forward to hearing from you – Thanks for your consideration!
