Thanks for your suggestion, but it sends me directly to the “This is somewhat embarrassing ….” error message I started with.

It looks like one of your settings is wrong when it comes to the Site Address (URL). Somehow, the URL for that setting contains “blog.php”, which is not right.

If you add these two lines to your wp-config.php, you should be able to connect again:

update_option('siteurl','https://www.do-you-have-problems-with-verizon-clueless.org/wordpress');
update_option('home','https://www.do-you-have-problems-with-verizon-clueless.org/wordpress');

Once that is done, you should be able to log in again at https://www.do-you-have-problems-with-verizon-clueless.org/wordpress/wp-admin and you should remove those two lines again from wp-config.php.

Sorry for all the bother. My knowledge of html is limited. I tried your suggestion and received the following message:

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘*’ in /home/carfor12/do-you-have-problems-with-verizon-clueless.org/wordpress/wp-config.php on line 2”

Looks like I placed the two lines in the wrong place. Where In wp-config.php do I insert the lines?

You may add those at the last line of the file.
