We could not verify the security token. Please try again.

  • Hi,

    I’m getting the message “We could not verify the security token. Please try again.”

    I’ve tried disabling plugins as sugested in this topic without success.

    I’m using cloudflare, perhaps that is the reason ? If it is, what can I do ?

    Also, I think it is related with users being logged in WP.

    Anyway, thanks a lot for this plugins, I tried many but I found this one really awesome and neat.

    This issue can happen for a number of reasons.

    My guess here is on caching. Cloudflare may be serving a cached version of the site where the security token is expired.

    Update : It’s not cloudflare. I desactivated the Always Online Technology (cached static pages) and also desactivated the fonctionnalité to update cache on changes to WP.
    Result : same error.

    I logged off from WP, then deleted cookies and tested.
    Results: it worked.
    Tested several times and when I’m logged off from WP, it works.

    If it’s not too much to ask, can you zip your plugins folder and send it to me using something like wetransfer?

    I need to search all these source codes for something that would be messing with the nonces.

    I did, but I could not find anything that would be messing with the nonces.

    The only reasons I can think of why this would be failing for you is caching (serving expired nonces) or the wp-admin folder being blocked from being accessed.
