We use a calendar event plugin and have begun to directly add two languages into each event. How would I go about saying that I do not want to have Polylang add any translation to it?

I just ignored it but noticed that the shortcode I used for the Norwegian language front page did not show up correctly in the English language frontpage as it was looking for the English translations. Since there were no English translations it thought that there were no events, as it did not look into the Norwegian events.

Conclusion: Being able to tell Polylang which custom posts to ignore. In this case Calendar Events.

Hello,

By default, Polylang doesn’t translate custom post types. If you did not ask to translate the CPT in your Polylang settings, then it means that the plugin author is doing it programmatically.

This can be done through a wpml-config.xml file. In that case, you can undo it with a custom wpml-config.xml in wp-content/polylang or in your child theme. See https://polylang.pro/doc/the-wpml-config-xml-file/

This can also be done with the pll_get_post_types filter. You can use the same to undo it. See https://polylang.pro/doc/filter-reference/#pll_get_post_types

Thanks for your reply!

Ahh gotcha. Yes Custom post types and Taxonomies is Deactivated. (I assume this is a part of the Pro plugin.)

I am using ME Calendar https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/modern-events-calendar-lite/ on the site and it seems that after installing Polylang that the calendar automatically had translation added without asking about it.

I will update this when I hear back from MECalendar support.

No it’s not.

There is wpml-config.xml file asking Polylang to translate the post type:
