"We recommend you change your site URL…" when creating a network?

  • Hi all

    I have just upgraded to v3.0 and enabled it for MultiSite.

    On the first page of the Tools -> Network function, it states this:

    We recommend you change your siteurl to (site name without the www) before enabling the network feature.

    What is the purpose of this? I will be using sub-directories not subdomains, so does removing www only apply for subdomains – which is what it looks like? Surely for subdirectories it should not matter?
