• I have created a new blog today just to help my friend with this.

I’ve searched the forum for some time and seen many people having problems with their header, however, I am unable to find a solution.

The image is 940×198 @ 72 px/inch as prescribed. When I upload it, the resolution (like a jpeg with the lowest quality compression) drops dramatically.
I have tried to change the format from jpeg to PNG without result.

I have not added any plugins, an mentioned earlier, I created a brand new blog in order to solve this, so it cannot be anything that i’ve done.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I thought the default with weaver was 188 but no matter.

Can your post a link to the image?

    I double checked, it’s 198.

What are you using to covert the png to a jpeg? I just used photoshop and the jpeg was fine.

I did not convert it into a jpeg, wordpress did it for me. I upload as png, and then all of a sudden it becomes a jpeg.

I have tried to upload it as a jpeg ang png. The jpeg with maximum quality setting of course. I also use Photoshop.

I uploaded the image to 2 sites as a png. They were converted to jpg but I have to admit I did not know wp did that.

One site https://www.lookingoutfromunder.com uses weaver and the image looks good. The other site, just used for stuff like this, uses the default theme and it looks bad – https://www.tsaidiots.com I will have the images up an hour or so.

I never let wp resize and for conversion I would think it would be better if you do it in photoshop.

I really appreciate that you are trying to help me kmessinger!

I still think that the image on lookingoutfromunder.com looks blurred. tsaidiots.com looks promising. What does the picture look like in its original size?

I totally agree with you, that is why I made the picture the right size from the beginning.
