web based java ftp plugin?

  • Has anyone created a wp plug-in that works with the media manager or wordpress upload feature which deals with large files beyond the size which PHP can deal with? (I’m thinking 600mb) I am specifically thinking of something like a Java driven client (although it could be flash driven or similar), most likely ftp, sftp, ftps, or alike that allows drag and drop functionality from the client to the wordpress server.

    I’m looking to try and make sure no one has developed this before I try and figure it out.

    I found a few examples of applets, lots of close-source or shareware pieces out there, but no wordpress plug-ins. I did find an open-source project for web based uploads, but it’s in development and not a plug-in.
