web completed in a test folder, ready to go live, now what?

hi guys,

so i finished the website in /wordpress folder. ready to replace the old website with brand spankin new. my hosting is with godaddy on a old server with no wordpress goodies.

simple questions.

1. can i follow this
(Moving a Root install to its own directory)

so i can launch the website without moving wordpress to root folder? obviously it’s similar with what i’m trying to do, but little different.(i already made website in a new folder)

2. if not, is there any easy to move wordpress folder? i tried an instruction which just tells me to edit the general, move the folder back to wordpress, and do velvet blue to change the URL, but it doesn’t work well with godaddy. and whenever i do velvet blue, it doesn’t always change the URL name. so it was pain in the butt.

please help! i want this transition as smooth as possible!
