I would definitely go with DreamHost. They’re running a special on their larger package (2GB, 64GB/mo bandwidth, etc.). The best features is that you get unlimited MySQL databases, which means unlimited WP blogs. I haven’t had any problems yet. Of course, if you go with DreamHost, would you mind entering my URL as the referrer? I’m not trying to trick you into anything, the choice is entirely yours, but DH is a good service, and little help with my bill is always appreciated. https://www.dreamhost.com

I would use what I use, A Small Orange (https://www.asmallorange.com) You get 400mb of space and 10gb of b/w for 5 bucks a month. That may not be much but they have very high quality service. Support tickets are answered LESS THAN 5 MINUTES always. Also, you get cPanel Pro, Fantastico, and unlimited everything. All servers are hosted at The Planet and are 2.8 dual xeons with 2 gb of ram and . If you do chose ASO, would you put my site as the referer? (https://www.rv2.org)

I would go with this site. https://www.fuitadnet.com/
    Extremely cheap….I get 3 gig space and 20 b/w for 5 bucks a month.

https://www.hostorange.com based in Belgium, never had a problem, everything you need, and cheap.

I use AffordableHost.com (https://www.affordablehost.com). It is owned and operated by the very capable Tina Peters and has been in continuous operation since 1997 (no small feat for a web hosting company!). It is U.S.-based. I have many many web sites and the downtime is MINIMAL. Truly. And what little there is is usually given advanced notice so there are no surprises.

If it is about boasting with our own hosts… LOL, here is mine: LinkSky – and yes, in the link my “ref” number is there, too.

It probably wouldn’t hurt to mention some web hosts that you’ve all had problems with. There are so many “fly by nights” in that industry so it’s hard to weed out the good from the bad. Cheap is always good, but sometimes it can be at the expense of something more important, like uptime or service/support.
AffordableHOST is by no means the cheapest host out there, but it is, as its name suggests, very affordable, and you get a lot for your money, IMHO.
Here are some forums where web hosts, good, bad and ugly, are discussed. Maybe these will help the OP in making the decision:

    https://forums.devshed.com/archive/f-12
    https://www.hostsearch.com/article01.asp
Oh, and although I don’t use these people, several web designers recommend them highly, so I’m sure they are fine:
    HostingMatters (https://www.hostingmatters.com)

asmallorange is my recommendation as well. heard great things about them. and no i dont have a referral url. but i do plan to get them as my next host.

I use comforthost.net. Very nice owner and staff. Wonderful service.

I’m using https://www.insidherhosting.com and have for about 2 years with almost no downtime. I can’t remember the last time the host was down and when it was, it was for maintenance purposes. They also have a support forum. Note – I don’t own it, work for it or asking for a referal ??
I’m thinking of switching though, only to increase my storage and bandwidth amounts.
    I’m paying $10 a month now for 200mb storage and 7gig bandwidth.
Looking at Yahoo small business for $19.95 which gives 4gig storage and 75gig bandwith per month. I’m just not convinced of their control panel though. I’m used to using Cpanel and a little concerned about moving away from it.

Try https://icdsoft.com , never had a problem with them. If you just want to run a blog, and you are savvy enough, I could host you for free, spare you, say 50 MB space, and enough bandwidth, on my server, if you need free.
My email is mail @ carthik dot net, in case you want to dip your toes, and not get wet, or pay.

I’ve had good luck with Total Choice Hosting
I get unlimited e-mail address, databases etc.
    20 Gig’s transfer, 850 megs storage.
    $5 a month.

I too am with ICDSoft and absolutely love them after having way too many problems with my last host…

I use https://www.surfspeedy.com. 2gigs storage, 65gig transfer, unlimited SQL database and e-mail addresses, and a bunch more. Plus, no setup fee and the first 3 months are $1 (afterwards it’s 6.95 a month). They’re great! ??

I have really been pleased with CrystalTech.
