    Delete the plugin, and reinstall it. That same function is called hundreds of times, and it should never be missing unless it is corrupted, or you have a PHP cache serving stale files.

    Tried that. Error persists also after reinstallation. PHP cache could be a possiblity.

    yeah, sounds like a php cache problem then. see if your webhost has a way to clear the cache.
