Web server cannot write to temp file

    Hello, is being able to write to ~/plugins/wordfence/tmp necessary for WordFence to work properly?

    I am getting this error and I am not sure if it is necessary or what I need to do to fix it. I am running wordpress on a LEMP stack (that is nginx) if that is any help. Thank you for any help you can give me.

    Hi @squarology,

    The “plugins/wordfence/tmp” folder does indeed need to be writable by the user the web server runs as.

    Have you changed the default permissions?
