Web site completly gone after 3.0.3 update

    Hello memebers,

    I just updated WP to 3.0.3 and right after seeing the confirmation that it was installed successfully, I tried to click on plugin and the screen went to pure white. The web site will not load.

    I looked at the files via ftp and they all seem to be there.

    Can anyone please help.

    Often that means a PHP error has occurred. Using FTP look in the top level folder of the WordPress installation to see if there is a file called error.log If so, open it, scroll to the bottom, and see if there are any recent error messages.

    Thank you for your help. I checked all the files within the WP folder and there was no error.log file.

    Is there anything else I can do?

    Maybe last resort, create a new data base and install WP fresh. If I do this, how can I get access and copy the current page content before doing this?

    No you do not have create a new database yet

    Have tried to reset you plugins using ftp rename plugins folder to say plugins-hold and create a blank plugins folder and try see if your website opens and lets you log in.

    If you can log in go back in ftp delete plugins folder you created and then rename your original back to plugins.

    Go in admin panel deactivate all plugins activate one at time as there may be some that are not compatible with the upgrade.

    If resetting plugins does not work then
    try using ftp rename your theme so that twenty ten theme opens to rule out theme problem.

    You Are welcome.

    When you upgrade it is recommended to deactivate plugins so that you do not have the problem as there may a be plugin that is not compatible with upgrade.
