web site URL can it be changed

  • i have my site up about 6months and have a very nice ranked k/w to a page that unfortunatly the target url is very poor, domaine.com/667 but the page is indexed and reciving nice daily hits, if i now wantted to change this ur to target my keyword would i deindex my page in google? would it make any problems if i change the url for that page?

  • Use the Change of address tool to tell Google about your new URL. i recall something about them being able yo update their index for your new url.

    The downside is, it takes time tho…days, maybe months

    But you will have to do it at some point right?

    Thanks.. little worried about it as just startted ranking in google 1 page for this keyword .. i thought i could optimise the page by fixing the url… i think i will leave the url as it is. maybe creat another post around this keyword and see what happens.
    its a shame as the only page on my site with this issuse is this page ??

    Do you have an account with Google webmaster tools? Set your preferred URL there. You can also make other corrections regarding indexing and related matters there.

    how can i find step by step instructions on how to do this? also how long can this take time to adjust as mentioned above

    Just click on the link I posted and get started. You don’t need any step by step instructions or guides. You will find all the help links provided by Google there. You cannot get anything better than that elsewhere.
