Web stories Failing AMP Test

Hi there

It appears that you are using WP Rocket and its “Combine Google Fonts” feature. That functionality in WP Rocket adds custom JavaScript to pages, which is not allowed in Web Stories. I recommend disabling that feature completely or at least for all /web-stories/ URLs. This should resolve those validation errors.

You might also want to reach out to WP Rocket so they can prioritize fixing this automatically on their end.

ok thank you. If I don’t copy and paste directly from my site, will the issue stop? I’ve been copying and pasting sections of my text on my site into my web stories. If I manually type each will it resolve the issue as well?

@lynnswayoflife The Combine Google Fonts feature isn’t related to how you add text to your stories, so no issues there. ?? In order for Web Stories to not fail AMP tests, you will need to keep that feature permanently disabled in WP Rocket.

Do you know why this all of a sudden happened? I have been making web stories for months with no issue and then just the past 2 have failed.

I’ve gone to WP Rocket and disabled the fonts as Bethany suggested. I am no longer getting “HTML Event Attributes, aka on, are not allowed in AMP”.

My web stories are still failing and now they only say “custom javascript is not allowed”.

There has to be another reason that isn’t WP Rocket.

Please, please help.

@lynnswayoflife If you temporarily disable your WP Rocket plugin do your stories then pass validation?

Yes, I disabled it and now they are passing validation. Do you know what part of WP Rocket is making the web stories fail

That web story is still failing even with wp rocket disabled. It says custom javascript is not allowed.

@lynnswayoflife As this is a conflict with WP-Rocket I would advise continuing your communication with them who will be able to better help you with identifying the exact settings causing these issues for you.

Thank you. The problem now is that I have disabled WP Rocket and my web stories are still failing. This one I tested and it is still failing.
