It looks like all of my stories have stopped working. All my previous stories with the URL “web-stories” in then now lead to a 404 page.

    Example:?https://www.redwhiteadventures.com/web-stories/black-rock-mountain-story/

On the other hand, my new stories lead to the blog post that I am trying to promote instead of the story?

Any advice is much appreciated ??

And also! My web story URL showed up in my website GA (instead of the separate GA I have set up for my stories) — but I assume that is because it went to a 404 page instead of the actual story…

Hi @josiekraemer thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear that you’re having issues with your Web Stories. I can see that your Stories archive page is not set to the default “https://www.redwhiteadventures.com/web-stories/” and is returning a 404 error.

Can I ask if you have changed this in the settings? If you’re not sure you can check by going to Web Stories > Settings > Stories Archives. This is set as default unless changed by the user and can either be disabled or a custom page set as the Web Stories archive page.

If this is not set to the default option could you try setting it to this and checking your stories again?

Hi @adamdunnage , Thanks for getting back to me!

The settings are set to default exactly like you described. Very odd that it is returning a 404 error…

Any suggestion as what else this could be then?

Hi again, I think I fixed it! I updated 3 plugins yesterday and both my stories + my fonts stopped working. I just restored my site from yesterday’s backup and it’s up and running again. So there must be a glitch with one of the plugins! ??

Would you mind checking if the page is still showing 404 for you? Thanks so much!

@josiekraemer Yes that is working now when I check! Glad to hear that the restore from backup and plugin updates have resolved the issue.

I will mark this as resolved but please do let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    Hey Adam,

Thanks for checking for me! Yeah, it appeared that turning Cloudflare on turned off the functionality of the plugin. I’m not sure if there’s a workaround for this?!

    Best,
    Josefine

@josiekraemer no problem at all and thanks for confirming this. There isn’t a workaround for this but I would recommend reaching out to Cloudflare support on this to see if they can identify a particular cause.

If they come back with anything that we can help with on our side then please let us know and I would be intrigued to know the result of your conversations with Cloudflare on this.

If there’s anything else I can help you with on the Web Stories side then let me know.
