• Hello All,

I just installed WP 4.5.1 on Windows Server running IIS version 7.5

The installation went through fine as I installed WP using Microsoft’s WebPlatform Installer. However a strange issue I encountered was that there was no need to put in a web.config file. If I add the web.config, it gives me a 500 Internal Error. If I remove the file completely, there are no issues logging into the WordPress admin portal.

Just wondering if anyone has encountered the same…Any feedback is highly appreciated!

Thank you all for your time!

Are you manually adding the web.config file or are you letting WordPress create it? I’ve seen this from time-to-time, but just had to make sure WordPress could write to web.config and re-save permalinks (Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks).

    Hi Geoffrey,

I manually added the file. The permalinks seem to be saving fine.

What structure are you using for your permalinks?
