I am wondering how I can get W3 Total Cache to automatically submit webp images to my CDN. I have already successfully set up a connection to my S3 bucket.

It seems like the plugin is just not set up to look for that file extension when checking the media gallery for new images to host.

I realize I can manually submit a request to host custom files, however I was hoping for an automated solution.

    Hello,
Try adding {wp_content_dir}/gallery/*.webp to your “Custom file list:” in Performance>CDN, advanced sub-box.
Also, add *.webp to other fields for file types to import.

    Hello Marko,

Following your suggestions, my CDN Advanced area now includes *.webp in quite a few areas.

Unfortunately, this does not seem to be resolving my issue.

I can manually click the upload custom files button and manually have my webp files moved to the CDN, however I was still hoping for an automated solution.

Is there any other way that you can think of to alleviate this issue?

    Thanks!

    Hello,
I spoke with the team and unfortunately, the only way is to push them manually for now. We will fix this for the future release.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Hi, can I check if this has been fixed yet? Does W3TC fully support WebP yet?

    Hello @dgilfillan,

Sorry, this is not fixed yet. We are working on that fix and some other fixes too. The latest update was released due to the deprecation of older API versions.
    Thank you for your patience.

Hi, I just want to mention that I too am eagerly awaiting W3TC’s WEBP support for CDN.

I am looking for the best strategy to integrate WEBP + CDN + caching across numerous websites. So far I am happy with W3TC + Stackpath, but WEBP support is a missing feature that I’m getting some pressure to implement.
