    Hi there,

I want to use WebP images to improve my google pagespeed rank

I have seen some older threads that mention that if you enable WebP in SG Optimizer and use Clouldflare, then anyone with a browser not supporting WebP will see broken images. Is this still the case?

I thought a workaround might be to upgrade to Cloudlflare Plus. I did this and enabled Polish, ticking WebP support in Cloudflare control panel, but this doesnt seem to work. Contacted Siteground support and they tell me Cloudflare WebP support is only available to Cloudflare customers who directly purchase through them (not Siteground customers upgrading to Plus).

Is there any way around all of this?

Cloudflare doesn’t support our way of serving webp images so yes the problem persist. I would recommend if you don’t really need a CDN not to use Cloudflare at all since your performance will be great even without it.

    Hi @hristo-sg

If I use WebP from Siteground optimizer (not enabling Polish or WebP on Cloudflare), will there still be issues for all users? Or just users that dont have a supported browser?

I thought that if you dont use cloudflare and just use SG Optmizer with WebP, this issue is still there, where un-supported browsers just show nothing (instead of a jpeg instead)

    Thanks
