Can I use Ewww only to convert images to webp? I don’t want the images compressed then converted to webp just convert to webp. Is that possible?

    Hi Derek,

Hrm, I think my suggestion would be to turn off the local compression options in the “Local” tab (you may have to enable Ludicrous mode to see that tab). Then either upload your images or run a “WebP Only” bulk optimize – there are options in the top-right hand corner of the bulk optimizer to do that.
When you do that, the media library column on the far right for Image Optimizer will show as ‘JPG optimization turned off” or something like that. However, once you have completed your WebP conversion, if you then turn the local compression option back on, it will show you “x number of images to compress” and a little further down, the WebP version link. You don’t have to turn that compression back on, but you can do this to verify that WebPs were created and see them if you like. Then you will just need to determine how you are delivering them and you’re good to go!
