    Hello,

I would like to know how I can allow webp format for profile avatar images?

In the settings panel I found format selections for the activity feed and other areas, but not for the profile avatar.

Uploading an webp image as avatar leads to the following error:

Error: Please upload only these file types: JPEG, GIF, PNG.

Is there a way to make webp avatars possible?

    Best regards
    Manuel

    Hello @marowi

    Thanks for reaching us

At the moment, Profile Avatar and Cover Image only support JPG, PNG, and GIF unfortunately. However, we will consider to add other images format in the future updates. ??

    Hi @kainelabsteam

    That would be great.

I can also understand that webp is not added as allowed format by default because browser support is not 100% yet.

But maybe you could make it so that the formats can be extended, like you did for the other sections: https://ibb.co/99FvxPS

Would be a useful extension from my point of view. Because webp images are used more and more often by users.

    Hello @marowi

Thank you for your advice. The main reason is that we are still using the BuddyPress avatar system and BP does not support this format. However, we will use our Avatar system soon. ??

    Best Regards, KaineLabs Team.
