I tried following the instructions to enable WebP by adding code to the .htaccess file. However, when I went to add the code, I found it was already there – the plugin must have added it automatically. Still, it seems like WordPress is not reading or implementing that code.

    I have already:

    • Installed and activated the 10Web Booster plugin
    • Followed the instructions to add the WebP code snippet to .htaccess
    • Confirmed the code is present in .htaccess
    • Tried disabling/re-enabling the plugin

But I still get the “WebP Format Not Enabled” error.

Could you please advise how I can properly enable WebP image support through this plugin? Do you have any troubleshooting tips? I want to use 10Web Booster but need to resolve this issue first.

Let me know if any other details would be helpful. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    Hi @vixel ,
Thank you for reaching out to us.

Will you please kindly make sure? all ‘mod_rewrite’, ‘mod_headers’ and ‘mod_mime’ PHP modules are enabled?

    Regards, Mane

    Hi Mane,

    Thank you for your response.

I wanted to confirm that I checked with my Hostinger hosting provider and they indicated that the mod_rewrite, mod_headers and mod_mime modules are enabled.

Therefore, the required modules are already activated in my configuration.

Do you have any other suggestions on how I can resolve the “WebP Format Not Enabled” error with the 10Web Booster plugin?

I look forward to your reply.

    Regards

Hello again @vixel, thank you for your patience,

Per our insights, there can be some cases when Lightspeed server can ignore instructions from .htaccess regarding WebP generation, depending on the server configuration. Our plugin simply uses the file to instruct the server to serve .webp versions of images when they exist.

Could you please contact your hosting provider and ask them to confirm if WebP generation on your hosting server indeed complies to htaccess configuration or if there is a custom flow to achieve it?
