    Hi Support,

Featured image in .webp format cannot show on Facebook. It seems Yoast does not support it. Facebook sharing debugger cannot display featured .webp image no matter how many times I scrap.

It says “Warnings That Should Be Fixed: Inferred Property – The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.“. See screenshot here.

I also put my featured image in Yoast SEO -> Social. But it says .webp image is not supported. See screenshot here. I can’t believe the almighty Yoast SEO to not support webp. Is there a work around?

I want to use .webp images on my website to get faster loading time. Please help me out.

    Thank you in advance

Thank you for suggesting a new feature for one of our plugins! You are actually not the first to have requested this feature! That means a feature request is already created and is currently under review by our product team.

    What’s next?
Our product team will assess feature requests in relation to other open bug reports and new features. Based on their assessment, the feature request will be given a priority level. Our developers work on the highest priority first. Unfortunately, this means we cannot give you an estimate if or when they’ll start working on your request.

If you have any further information that may affect the prioritization, please feel invited to reply to this email.

For now, you can only use the file types of JPEG, PNG, and GIF to set as the og:image tag for the Facebook or Twitter image in the social tab of the Yoast SEO meta box. WEBP isn’t supported at this time, but please do check our changelog and release posts from time to time for upcoming features and additions to the Yoast SEO plugin.

    Thanks!`

Been using All in One SEO since I posted this thread, and everything is resolved. Couldn’t believe All in One SEO is way ahead of traditional Yoast.

You may wanna try All in One SEO ??
