• we recently replaced our website with a wordpress blog, and since doing this, i’ve noticed that accessing and navigating the site is noticeably slow.

it takes approximately 5 seconds or more (give or take) to load a page. this wasn’t an issue with our old website and seems to have started happening once we had the wordpress site set up.

any ideas as to what could be causing this issue?

  • Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of specific help.

go to https://www.halifaxacl.com and navigate the site, that’s the best demonstration i can think of.

Looks like your host Elosoft is pretty slow. Contact them and ask them what’s up and/or consider changing webhosts if they can’t help. Some webhosts are better than others.

I agree with songdogtech. You don’t have any glaring issues with large images or overwhelmingly big javascript or CSS files that would cause a page to load slowly. Thus the problem is likely that your host’s servers are overloaded or generally slow.

From what I see in the code, your website should load fairly quickly — it’s probably time for a new hosting company or plan.
