Website and Admin Portal not loading

  • My website and admin portal are not loading for some reason. A few hours ago I was making a small edit on the website (which is edited maybe a few times per month), stepped away from my desk and when I came back neither the site nor the login admin portal are loading. I get the message: “Error establishing a database connection” or “Internal Server Error”

    This is urgent because I need to send this site to another gov’t agency so they can review it.

    To be honest I’m not sure who the server host is. I’m waiting on another site manager (board member of our group) to get back to me and let me know. I know…that info would help.

    A few people have reported the same or similar problems today. They all are with GoDaddy. They do have some problems.

    When you get the info, let us know if it is not GoDaddy and I am sure someone will be around to help.

    Okay I just found out that the site is hosted by Netfirms. I trying to get connected with their support team now.

    Any idea what could be wrong?

    “Error establishing a database connection” normally means that the database server is down or un-reachable. So check the details are correct in the wp-config file.

    What is the url

    I’m having the same exact issue with the message “Error establishing a database connection”. Worked fine when I was making edits to the page last night and this morning poof….no wp-admin page and now that error.

    I’m hosting with go-daddy….gah

    unfortunately i dont have the hosting account password because i’m not the owner (just admin access). damn.

    No. I contact go-daddy, the web host, and the database the website is on is down and they have people working on it. They couldn’t give me an ETA and that was at…..8:30a PST

    Of course it’s the day after I revamp my clients site and am ready to go live with it lol
