• Hi all,

I’ve come to a bit of a dead end.

My website has been doing great for years, but recently when I make changes to any of the pages, they don’t show up unless I’m logged in.

I have some caching plugins, which I’ve cleared, and I’ve deactivated each plugin one by one to see if there’s a culprit, but to no avail. I tried deactivating all my plugins at once, but the changes still don’t show up, and all plugins work as they did before deactivating…

I’m not sure what I can do, so any help would be hugely appreciated. I feel like I’m missing something simple.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This behaviour is 100% a caching issue.

If you have indeed flushed your caching and optimization plugins (I see references to WP Fastest Cache and Autoptimize on your site), then the caching may be happening upstream: directly on your server managed by your host, or even an external CDN.

If you’re using your host Dreamhost’s DreamPress Managed WordPress hosting offering, this comes with their own server-based caching (and they even advise customers to NOT run 3rd-party caching plugins). Please see: Managing the DreamPress cache.

    Hi,

Most of the time, problems related to WordPress changes not showing on your site have to do with caching issues (browser caching, page caching, or CDN caching). The fix is to clear the cache causing these issues, making sure both you and your visitors are seeing the most recent version of your site.

To know more about caching issues I would suggest reading the article here https://kinsta.com/blog/wordpress-changes-not-showing/#how-to-fix-problems-with-browser-caching

Interesting. I used to use WP Fastest Cache, but uninstalled it so it wasn’t visible in my plugins list in the WP admin. Since you mentioned it was there @gappiah I checked my FTP, and the folder was there.

I then deleted the folder, but that didn’t change anything.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t use DreamPress, and can’t see it being utilised in my Dreamhost panel anywhere, no options to manage that feature anywhere.

@faithcoder thank you. I read that article before posting this and have a browser dedicated to clearing everything just to check websites. Still not sure what the issue is.

As I write this, your site is still loading resources from both WP Fastest Cache and Autoptimize plugins. See screenshot below:

@hermitband @gappiah Same thing is happening with me too. I am litespeed user. Even after deleting the plugins site is not getting updated until I clear the browser cache.

@ankannayek7: As per the forum guidelines, please start a new topic and provide your site address so we can take a look for you.

    Thanks.

Thanks @gappiah. After seeing the file paths in your screenshot, I went and deleted everything in my wp-content/cache folder via FTP, and that seems to have done the trick. Huge thanks, your help is much appreciated!
