    Hi,

We’ve had a couple of reports of this and it’s been in each case where the hosting server is running a very very old version of php. Your hosting company should be able to update this for you very quickly. WordPress recommends a minimum of 5.6 , here’s some more details if needed https://www.ads-software.com/about/requirements/.

    That should fix things,

    Jamie

Thank you! I just upgraded and everything seems to be working fine now.

Hello. Same problem here. The server is running PHP 5.4. Isn’t that enough?
There are hundreds of servers still running on PHP 5.4 and people sometimes cannot do the move to another server…
I will try to downgrade your plugin to the previous version

Yes, I can confirm, downgrading to version 2.5 did the trick.

Please be kind and opt for one of these options:
    1) Restore support to PHP 5.4 and keep it so for 1-2 years.
    2) Restore support to PHP 5.4 but show a noticeable admin warning in the backend recommending the switch to PHP 5.6 ASAP becausa as of December 2016 your plugin won’t even activate under PHP 5.5 or lower.
    3) Add a visible note in the Description page here in the repo making noticeable that this plugin won’t work with PHP <5.6

This kind of changes may affect lots of people, and given that this plugin is used to BUILD websites, you must be careful and let users know your plans with enough anticipation. 4 months should be enough.

Thank you for reading. Hope you can take all this into consideration ??

I’m going to mark this as resolved now – but any other issues just re-open the ticket ??
