    Greetings,

I installed WooCommerce on my wordpress.com site about a month ago but now it is causing my site to crash.

+From a previous support forum suggestion, I tried changing the name of the folder to mu-plugins-disabled as suggested in a thread, but that didn’t work.

+This is the message I receive whenever I activate WooCommerce and then try to visit my site. https://snag.gy/k32hWM.jpg

+This is the message I see in my Woocommerce settings.

+I am also now receiving an error saying my site is experiencing technical difficulties.

+This is an email notification I received about the site yesterday.

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, WooCommerce Admin.

First, visit your website (https://swagher.net/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://swagher.net/wp-admin/plugins.php?activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

+After contacting HostGator at the email suggestion above my site’s PHP has been updated to 7.1.14.

+I have uninstalled and reinstalled WooCommerce, but each time activated the site goes back down and I get the message like the image I shared above.

+ I would also like to note when I contact WP.com support they told me the following:
Your site is running www.ads-software.com on another hosting company and connected to a WordPress.com account via JetPack plugin, which allow you to add content to your site and use other JetPack features

I currently have the plugin activated for troubleshooting purposes, but that means my site is down to visitors. Please help. Thanks.

  • Hi,

It seems like a theme conflict. What version of Pressroom are you using? There was an update the 23.05.2019 of your theme to v4.2 where they updated templates of woocommerce. Have you did the update?

    23.05.2019 – v4.2
    Security improvements.
    WooCommerce template files update.
WPBakery Page Builder update (to version 6.0.2).
Theme Dummy Content Importer plugin update (to version 1.5).
    Minor code fixes.

When I go under Theme Editor I see it’s Pressroom version 3.0. I do not see any options to update the theme itself.

They’re using an older version @selfoutlet 3.4 and the latest is V4.2.

I will say that Premium themes are not supported. If you’re experiencing issues please contact the author on Theme Forest. These themes are not supported in this forum.

For updating a theme you will want to buy another license from the author on Theme Forest unless you still have download ability.

    Hi @swagher,

As you know, Woocommerce, WordPress… changes constantly and themes, plugins needs to be updates. So, the only solution as @serafinnyc says is to update your theme or maybe change it.

The problem with your site is that the code used by your theme to refer to Woocomerce is old, and a lot of variables…. are not used for example and this causes errors.

    Good luck!
