• Whenever I click on Retrieve Reviews, it gets them alright but right after that my website crashes/freezes and goes down for about 2 minutes. It then magically comes back online.

I’m using the Google Places API with my own API key. I’m on a pretty powerful VPS server as well, so this shouldn’t be happening.

    Please advise. Thanks!

I agree, I haven’t heard of this before. It really shouldn’t happen with the places API. Here’s what I would do.

    1. Check the javascript console when you click the button. Open it before you click and watch for errors. To open, right-click on the page > inspect > look for the console window.
    2. Contact your hosting provider to check the php error logs for any information that might help.

    Thanks for the reply.

There’s no error message in the Console: https://imgur.com/a/npvLbxB

I’ve checked the server error logs myself and there’s nothing related to WP Review Slider.

Very strange. I’m not seeing any issues. Can you tell me the Place Id you are using?

Any place id I use I get this issue, for e.g. ChIJza-tqUOLfCER7gTMA9uuc4w

Seems to be working for me. We are talking about the same plugin correct? The reason I ask is the screenshot you sent of the message in the console I do not recognize that text. My plugin is here…

If there aren’t any errors in the console and no messages in php admin, I really don’t know what else to try.
