    Hi,

After installing the security all in one plugin, I went into settings and follow the instructions to increase my wordpress website security.

One of them was to change the database default prefix(wp_) to another prefix. I clicked on “generate a random prefix”. After that, I was redirected to a page, to log in with my password and my website data is gone. It now says
    “HELLO WORLD!

I can no longer log in on the wordpress admin panel. The password does not work. I am locked out and I have no clue why.

What happened? How do I fix it?

    Please help.

  • Hi,

Probably the plugin was able to rename your tables, but not to update the $table_prefix configuration variable that is stored in wp-config.php file.

Can you access your database with a tool like phpMyAdmin or Adminer? Or do you know the random prefix that the plugin has generated?

Yes we were able to access the server and restore from backup. But some images were lost and had to be manually re-uploaded on each pages.

I don’t remember the random prefix that was generated. I should have taken a screen shot but did not think about it.

Anyway now our site is back up but I won’t check that feature again because I am afraid it will happen again.

    Thanks for the reply!

Glad to hear you managed to sort it out!
