• I had a website up and running https://www.thenaturalresourcer.com.au
Then I did the 4.3.1 update which caused my computer some problems
I now have a new iPad, have gone to open up my website to change a few things and it’s back to the very start where I have to create a whole new website. I am simply baffled. What on earth did I do wrong ??

Looks like it’s up and running. Try clearing your cache on your browser or use a different browser.

Sorry I am Technilogically challenged…what is cache and how do I clear it?

Ok I figured out how to clear the cache….??
I opened a new browser and can see my webpage BUT I can’t edit it or get to my dashboard…

The cache on your browser remembers what was viewed so it doesn’t have to reload the same images. If you have a PC you can hit CTRL + F5 and it should reload the page and clear cache for that site. You can clear cache and cookies by viewing the HISTORY in your browser and clear “browsing history” select what you want to clear like cache and cookies but not necessarily passwords if you have the browser save them.

Stupid question….do I have to have WordPress downloaded onto my device to be able to edit my website and access dashboard etc…..my iPad said safari can’t download the worpress 4.3.1
I don’t have any other versions on here either to update. It is the first time I am putting this on my iPad. Why wouldn’t it be able to download it ?

I don’t understand, are you talking about a local version on your ipad separate from the online version linked above?

Hi the naturalresourcer, it’s not stupid at all most people confuse it.

    1) Simple and no hassle, create a free account on wordpress.com. It will make you a website like mycooking.wordpress.com free, for life and with all things based upon WordPress. Ready as you register.

    2) Here we focus on “self-hosting” WordPress. It involves more tweakings, more manual setups, but in exchange you have “more/full” freedom on how you create a website with it. (walking on eggs while saying more/full). It will also involve you to learn basics of managing a website by manual means.

I hope it helps a bit to clarify between the two options,

I am so sorry you must think I am an absolute nutter. I am just not very tech savvy and get confused easily by it all. I am genuinely trying to get my head around this And don’t wAnt to waste your time…..

Can you please retype the link for me to login to…it seems to have vanished

    No problem, it’s support forum

    2 options really:

    1) go at wordpress.com, check if you can retrieve something by email (password for example)

    2) if you tried it fast on your computer, there is nothing to retrieve for now (plus it didn’t work if i understood) – the way to do it is here:
